Clayden to challenge Rivermen contract termination

The owner of the Espanola Rivermen isn’t totally surprised that town council terminated the team’s contract before it’s up.  Tim Clayden says council was wondering where the CIHL goes from here after four teams from the south quit.  Clayden has been working to get the count number up.  But Clayden is also questioning the legality of council’s move considering the Rivermen were current with all their obligations.  He’s says he’s not in breach and will fight the decision.  Town council terminated the contract saying it’s in the best interest of the community and stakeholders. Clayden wants to keep the Rivermen in town because he says there are good people in Espanola and the area.  Clayden has until mid April to get the team back in Espanola because next season’s schedule needs to be finalized and players have to make decisions on their future.
