The Algoma District is receiving funding supports from the federal government through FedNor.
The government has announced $2.1-million in funding for the district.
The East Algoma Community Futures Development Corporation will receive $1.6-million to continue offering a broad range of business financing and counselling services over the next five years.
The remaining $510,000 will be used towards recruiting two new economic development officers for the region.
