WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT

Winter storm warning in effect for

  • Blind River – Thessalon
  • Manitoulin Island

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Significant snowfall and blowing snow expected Saturday.

Snow is expected to move into the area on Saturday morning as a low-pressure system approaches. Snow will be heavy at times Saturday morning and afternoon. The snow will taper off to flurries overnight Saturday night. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are likely.

Easterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h will cause widespread blowing snow giving reduced visibilities during the day on Saturday.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.

Significant snowfall expected Saturday.

Easterly winds gusting up to 50 km/h will create areas of blowing snow giving reduced visibilities during the day on Saturday.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
