The Espanola Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39 and the Espanola Lions Club have helped a local woman reach her fundraising goal for two vein finders.
Jolene Courtemanche who undergoes regular blood tests as part of her medical care was astonished by the support of the two organizations who helped her reach her goal of $16,200 with their donations this weekend.
The Lions gave her $1,000 while the Legion surprised her with a cheque for $5,000 on Saturday.
Courtemanche adds she is especially pleased to have reached her goal with the wonderful support she received, not only from organizations and businesses but also from individuals throughout the Espanola and North Shore area.
