The City of Elliot Lake is looking at demolishing the Lester B. Pearson Civic Centre next Spring.
Elliot Lake CAO, Daniel Gagnon, told the Ad Hoc Committee Monday afternoon that the building will likely be demolished in March 2020.
He also informed the members that the insurance company has provided a payment of $3.5-million with another $500,000 expected in settlement funding.
A section of the roof collapsed under the weight of snow and ice last February 21st and the city has deemed it more feasible to tear it down and build a new structure.
