The East Algoma OPP launch of the annual RIDE program has netted a large seizure of contraband tobacco.

OPP Constable Kyle Ney says around 10:00 pm last Tuesday, the OPP stopped and checked a vehicle as part of the RIDE program discovering an estimated $34,000 in contraband tobacco.

Ney adds two men from Edmonton, Alberta have been charged with one count each of possession of unmarked cigarettes and possession for the purpose of selling.

The two are to appear in Blind River court on February 6th.
