The Blind River Tourist Centre will be continued to be utilized by the town, but on a limited basis.

Last month, Mayor Sally Hagman moved a motion that the centre be opened, but the council deferred the matter until more time had been given to explore various options.

Declining usage and a hefty repair bill were two reasons for looking at different avenues.

However, the council has agreed to have it open Victoria Day weekend through to the Thanksgiving weekend.

Council also agreed to look at other options including renting it in the offseason as a way to offset maintenance costs and ensure its usage during the winter.
