Students in Espanola and the Manitoulin District will be learning some new things this week, but not at school.
Grade 9 students in Rainbow schools will be taking part in the national Take Our Kids to Work program.
Board Education Director, Norm Blaseg, says the students learn first-hand about the skills required in today’s workplace and get to explore career options with a parent or friend.
He adds local employers have an important role in preparing their future workplace and the program is one way to do that.
Now in its 25th year, the program provides Grade 9 students with the opportunity to experience and learn about the world of work as they begin to explore possible career paths.
