Community Threat Assessment Protocol introduced by board

An expert in dealing with tragic events in schools will be in Sudbury to take part in the signing of a new Community Threat Assessment Protocol for the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts.

Rainbow District School Board spokesperson Nicole Charette says J. Kevin Cameron, the executive director of the North American Center for Threat Assessment and Trauma Response will attend the signing today.

Charette says Cameron has developed protocols and provides training on traumatic events, before they escalate and after they occur.

School boards, police, politicians and community partners will meet him today as part of the signing of the protocol, a collaborative response to a person of concern’s threatening behaviours.

She adds the ceremony will take place at 3:30 pm at the Caruso Club in Sudbury.
