Espanola says goodbye to Timmothy Turpin

A fleet of towing vehicles wound its way through the streets of Espanola to mark the passing of one of their own.

Timmothy Turpin was a tow truck driver for Dan’s Towing in Espanola for the last 15 years.

He passed away last week from a massive heart attack while out on a call.

Business owner Dan Turpin says the public does not always realize the important role that people in his industry provide, not only in helping motorists, but also assisting police and medical staff with motor collisions.

He says Tim took his role quite seriously and would go the extra mile, especially to help those who had lost loved ones.

Dan says it is a tradition within their industry that when one of their own passes away, they form the funeral procession in their honour.

Tim was 59.

Tow truck operators held a special funeral procession on Saturday for Espanola’s Timmothy Turpin who passed away last week. The procession acknowledged the contributions he made to the industry and helping local motorists and organizations, such as police, over the last 15 years. He is seen here with his wife, Laurie.
