Integrity Report: Elliot Lake council defers taking action against councillor

It is the consensus of Elliot Lake council that they defer any action against a fellow councillor in dealing with the Integrity Commissioner’s findings.

Council talked about various aspects of IC Peggy Young-Lovelace’s findings for nearly two hours last night before deciding to defer taking any action against Councillor Chris Patrie.

The Commissioner has recommended that he be removed from council and he is already facing court action involving a conflict of interest as a result of the findings.

However, the council has not received the final Patrie report from the commissioner’s firm E4m.

Councillor Norman Mann tabled a motion that the whole matter be deferred.

Council concurred and voted in favour of waiting on the final reports, some of which are available for public review on the city’s website.

The reports can be found at: http://www.cityofelliotlake.com/en/cityhall/conduct.asp
