The owner of the Espanola Rivermen has helped create a new tier two hockey league. The Canadian International Hockey League expects to start play this fall with eight to 10 teams. Rivermen owner Tim Clayden says the league is made up of teams from communities along the Highway 17 corridor and 400 series highways. Seven communities, including Espanola, Sudbury, Bracebridge and Collingwood have so far confirmed their participation. Clayden has taken his Rivermen out of the NOJHL following several disputes with the league on several issues.
