A new healing lodge is being built in Wikwemikong.
Chief Duke Peltier says the new lodge has been in the works for nearly 24 years and will help community members deal with traumas while also offering cultural programming and counselling supports.
He adds it will take a family-based approach when it comes to assisting those who need the programming.
The Seven Generations Healing Lodge is expected to open in early next year.
