When it comes to winter road maintenance on northern highways the MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane says something is not adding up. John Vanthof says on one hand the Ministry of Transportation is fining companies for not meeting snow removal standards. But Vanthof says on the other hand the private companies that clear the highways claim the MTO hasn’t given them enough money to do the job right. The New Democrat MPP wants the ministry to come clean on the issue.
