With 30 years of fish farming experience and several innovations and awards behind him, Mike Meeker of Meeker’s Aquaculture continues to look for improvements.
Meeker says he has now purchased the Burnt Island fingerling grow-out business from Blue Goose.
He adds originally set up to grow Arctic char back in 1994, the location will now be used to grow rainbow trout.
Purvis Brothers Fisheries owns the property and buildings, which Meeker is now leasing from them
Meeker says thousands of trout fingerlings will be arriving over the next couple of week and grown to market size for the world market.
