The idea of having a splash pad constructed in Massey has been revitalized.
Two organizers of the Massey Haunted Trail, Tiffany Hall and Stephanie Stonley, met with Sables-Spanish Rivers Township council this week to tell them they plan to continue the successful fundraiser with funds going towards the splash pad.
An application for Trillium funding was turned down last year, but the two women say they will continue fundraising to build up the funds.
Stonley says the event, which runs the last two weeks of September, has raised an average of $7,000 to $11,000 per year over the last four years.
Hall emphasizes they can’t go it alone however and will need volunteers to help make it another success this fall.
In turn, council agreed to erect signage and are looking for storage for their supplies.
