Mindemoya was the site of the Special Olympics Regional Softball Championships this weekend hosted by Manitoulin Special Olympics.
Twelve teams made up of around 200 players and coaches from Almaguin, North Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins and Manitoulin took to the Mindemoya Ball Fields for their annual event. Both the Manitoulin Nightriders and the Manitoulin Wolverines took part with the Wolverines placing second and the Nightriders finishing third.
