Swimming advisory removed for Providence Bay

Public Health Sudbury & Districts has removed the swimming advisory signs at a Manitoulin Island beach.

The timing couldn’t be better removing the signage at the Providence Bay Beach calling for people to stay out of the water.

This weekend is the 134th Providence Bay Fair and its’ sandy beach is one of the most popular on the Island with between 5 to 7,000 people expected to attend.

The advisory had been put in place because of high bacterial levels.

However, a swimming advisory for the same reasons remains in place for Kagawong Beach.
