Cast North Productions is looking for background actors for scenes to be filmed in Sudbury.

The company is hosting an open casting call for the film Country at Heart, which is currently filming in the city.

They are looking for background actors for scenes to be filmed over the next few weeks, as well as a large group needed for a nighttime festival scene to be filmed August 24th.

The production is looking for background performers between the ages of 16 and 80, both males and females.

Both union and non-union performers can apply.

Performers cannot have any visible hand or neck tattoos, facial piercings or unnatural hair colours. Minimal facial hair is fine, but no large bushy beards. The film is set in the fall when it comes to wardrobe.

No experience is needed. These are paid positions.

Cast North received a $500,000 investment from the province to film the made-for-TV movie “Country at Heart” in the region, including Sudbury and Powassan.

About Country at Heart

The story surrounds a struggling singer/songwriter Shayna Cook who leaves Nashville for a break to go home to her small town of Silverado, where her rancher father, Judson, is prepping for a big harvest and music festival, right on their property.
Shayna is surprised to meet Grady Parker, a talented songwriter who’s had some success, and who’s staying there to get some inspiration for his new album, and the two hit it off, both professionally and personally. But Shayna’s relationship with Grady may be in jeopardy when his nemesis, country star Duke Sterling, whose greatest hit he allegedly stole from Grady, comes to the festival.
