Espanola council unanimously voted to donate to the Espanola Public/AB Ellis School 100th anniversary celebrations.

The committee wants to set up a large tent on school grounds, and also asked for the licence and rental fee be waived.

The council unanimously agreed to waive the fees and pay for the rental of the tent donating nearly $1,100 from a special discretionary fund set up for that local projects.

The building originally opened as Espanola Public back in 1919 and was renamed AB Ellis Public School in memory of long-time principal, Andy Ellis.

The celebration is set for August 4th to 6th.
