Alex Trebek cancer approaching remission

Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek revealed in March that he was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer and vowed to fight, and the 78-year-old television icon has now revealed that his cancer is now in “near remission.”
“It’s kind of mind-boggling,” the 78-year-old says. Although the cancer has a 9 percent survival rate, Trebek has been responding very well to chemotherapy.
“The doctors said they hadn’t seen this kind of positive result in their memory…some of the tumors have already shrunk by more than 50 percent.”
Trebek will have to continue with rounds of chemotherapy to hopefully reach complete remission.
In April, Trebek said in a message to Jeopardy! viewers that he’s looking forward to returning for the next season of the show, scheduled to begin in September.
