Northern Ontario is expected to lag in Ontario’s overall recovery. That’s the assessment from financial agency Central 1. Prospects are lower for the north’s recovery because it depends a lot on mining and right now prices are weak in various mining sectors. On the positive side, forestry is expected to improve because of rising housing starts in the U.S. The manufacturing sector is expecting faster growth and that bodes well for Southern Ontario.
