Elliot Lake city CAO Daniel Gagnon will be making a presentation to council in regards to the property that housed the former Algo Mall.

The special meeting agenda is light on details, but does state that an update of an Agreement of Purchase and Sale for 151 Ontario Avenue is to be provided by Gagnon.

A motion to purchase the property for $950,000 was put on the table last December, but the vote resulted in a tie when Councilor Luc Cyr declared a conflict of interest, defeating the motion.

The Algo Mall garnered world-wide attention on June 23rd, 2012, when a segment of the rooftop parking deck collapsed into the building with resulting in over 20 people sustaining injuries and the death of two women.
