Students and politicians highlight World Down Syndrome Day

NDP members in Parliament and Queen’s Park got a little wacky yesterday to highlight World Down Syndrome Day.

AMK MP Carol Hughes, and MPPS, Mike Mantha and France Gelinas, joined with their NDP counterparts to wear their wacky socks.

Students at École secondaire catholque Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River and at other schools also wore mis-matched socks.
This day aims to raise awareness about Down Syndrome, what it’s like to live with this condition as well as to focus on the great contributions of people with Down syndrome.
