Senior fraud seminar in Espanola

Espanola OPP Community Services Officer, Marie Ford, says some local seniors have been scammed for literally thousands of dollars and she wants to help them recognize when they are in danger of being defrauded.

Ford will be at the Espanola Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39 this evening to host a seminar focusing on people over 60 years of age and the possible scams they can be subjected to.

Ford will make a presentation followed by Ormond Carnegie, a volunteer with the Canadian Anti-fraud Centre’s Senior Support Unit.

The doors open at 6:30pm with the seminar starting at 7:00pm.

It is free and refreshments will be provided.
