Eight students from the Algoma District School Board’s Manufacturing and Welding classes are competing to represent the region at provincials.
They are taking part in the hand-on competition Local 800 Union Hall in Sault Ste. Marie today (Wednesday) where their work will be evaluated by professional welders from the union.
The winners will go on to the Provincial Skills Ontario Welding Competition in North Bay.
