The melt is coming too fast and the Town of Espanola is just the latest municipality to err on the side of safety in closing one of its major buildings.
Concerns about snow and ice on the roof led to the closure of the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex on Wednesday.
Staff looked at re-opening it yesterday morning, but decided to close the building, which also houses the Espanola Public Library, an hour later.
Snow is being removed by work crews, but it will be closed indefinitely until deemed safe once again.
