A lot of rehearsals and patience has led to a medal at a prestigious event for The Sacred Heart Catholic School Jazz Band from Espanola.
Led by Jodi Bourcier, the group received a silver award and Shannon MacPherson received an award for outstanding contribution for her performance on trombone.
The band performed at the Northern Ontario Music Festival in Sudbury over the weekend.
Sacred Heart was one of four elementary school bands to take part in the two-day competition.
