NDP push for more highway shoulder use by off road vehicles

The MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane is working on a Private Member’s Bill to open up highway shoulders to ATV’s and utility vehicles.  John Vanthof  says right now only some recreational ATV’s can use the highway shoulder but his Bill would include more types.  One of those new ATV’s is a side-by-side which can carry two passengers.  Vanthof says his legislation would also include side-by-side utility vehicles to help workers access worksites.  Quebec already has similar legislation in place and the NDP MPP says the change would put Ontario in line with Quebec.
