Elliot Lake council hiring new integrity consultant services

Elliot Lake City is one of the first municipalities in the local area to change up how it will pay for integrity consulting services.

Up until now, the city has relied on Robert Swayze from southern Ontario at a rate of $382 an hour to investigate Integrity Commissioner’ complaints.

City CAO Dan Gagnon’s recommendation that the city sign on with E4M Solutions of Sault Ste. Marie at $150 an hour for conflict of interest concerns and lawyer Tony Fleming of Kingston for integrity matters at $295 per hour was accepted.

The new Conflict of Interest Act comes into effect on March 1st, so the recommendation will come into play on that date.
