Former Sudbury mayor and Progressive Conservative MPP Jim Gordon has been named to the Order of Canada. Gordon was mayor of Sudbury spanning different periods totaling 17 years. He also served two terms as an MPP for Sudbury during the early to mid 1980’s. In 2000, Reader’s Digest named Gordon one of Canada’s most influential mayors. The Order of Canada recognizes outstanding achievement and service to country. Gordon was recognized for his social and economic contributions to Sudbury.
