Manitoulin OPP are investigating a fatal fire on Manitoulin Island.
Manitoulin OPP media officer, Marie Ford, says on Monday the office received a call to check on the well-being of a man living in an isolated home in Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands.
Police were not able to reach the home due to inclement weather and its’ remote location.
Ford says on Tuesday, they were finally able to reach the home, but found a burned structure.

Yesterday, the canine unit was called in and found suspected human remains.
The investigation is continuing.
The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed.
