Blind River seeks new economic development committee members

Bringing a strategic plan to fruition in Blind River is one step closer to reality.

On Monday night, council gave its approval to the terms of reference for members of the new Corporate Strategic Economic Development Committee.

They are now seeking applicants to serve a one-year term.

The members will work under the guidance of consultants, Jovette Morin and Marla Tremblay of Baker Tilley Consulting, who prepared the strategic plan for the town.

The consultants have also outlined specific procedures to reach the plan’s goals including improvements in tourism and local recreational facilities, as well as economic development initiatives.

The deadline to apply is February 14th.
