The residents of a housing unit in Blind River need clothing and furniture after a fire destroyed their individual apartments yesterday. IB Towing of Blind River is organizing the drive. Spokeswoman Donna Viel says all types of furnishings can be used for bedroom, kitchen and living room needs. Clothing is also needed but the size types still need to be determined. Viel says for now donations can be dropped off at 138 Lakeside or call 843-6464 to arrange for a pick-up. However she’s hoping someone has available space where items can be stored in the future. The victims are all on fixed incomes. One person is being treated following the fire.
