Espanola police have charged a 23-year-old man after a woman was choked and held in a motel room against her will. The woman claims she and her estranged boyfriend were walking from a mutual friend’s home when they began to argue. The woman told police that the ex kicked her then gave her a head butt and finally locked her in a motel room for two hours. The accused, who is from Espanola, faces several charges including choking, forcible confinement and uttering threats.
