Three people charged with attempted murder

East Algoma OPP have arrested three people and charged each of them with two counts of attempted murder and other charges.

Last Friday afternoon, OPP investigated a break-in at a residence on Front Street in Spanish.

A 49-year-old man and 32-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and were transported to hospital.

Later that day, a 30-year-old woman was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, break and enter, disguise with intent and two counts of aggravated assault.

Then, on Tuesday, arrest warrants were executed at a residence on Beckett Boulevard in Elliot Lake.

Two men, a 33-year-old and a 37-year-old, have been charged with two counts each of attempted murder, break and enter, disguise with intent, two counts of aggravated assault, robbery with a weapon and uttering threats.

All three are being held until their next appearances in Sault Ste. Marie court.
