Elliot Lake’s new groomer arrives in the city and time is of the essence in deciding how it will be paid for.
City CAO Dan Gagnon says an emergency meeting has been called for council this morning to make the decision; buy it outright or lease.
He says, rather than lease, it is being recommended the city purchase the groomer for Mount Dufour outright, and that way, he adds they can borrow from their own reserves rather than pay debt finance charges to a third party at less than favourable rates.
Gagnon did not say how much money the new groomer will cost.
The meeting is slated for 9:30am this morning.
