Vista radio stations raise more than $1 million

Thirty-eight charities in the 38 communities where Vista Radio has a radio station, including CKNR in Elliot Lake and CJJM in Espanola, are big winners.  The final numbers are in and the 38 stations raised nearly $1.1 million in cash, food and toys in a series of radiothons.  Espanola’s Moose station raised $2,200 for cardiac equipment at the local hospital and in Elliot Lake the Sally Ann receives $13,000 from the radiothon at the Elliot Lake Moose station.   The morning hosts at both stations, Bob Alexander and Rosalind Russell, worked tirelessly last Friday on their respective radiothons.  Vista has radio stations in Ontario, B-C, Alberta and the Northwest Territories.  The president of Vista set $1 million as the goal and the final amount exceeded his expectations thanks to the generosity of all communities.  Geoff Poulton adds the food, money and toys will now be distributed by the 38 charity groups Vista worked with this year.
