Elliot Lake has a new citizen with a special designation.
Elliot Lake’s first new citizen of the year, Luke Howard, made his appearance at St. Joseph’s General Hospital at 11:54am on January 1st officially making him Elliot Lake’s New Year Baby 2019.
He is the third child Jeremy and Mackenzie Howard of Elliot Lake, and a brother to his three-year-old twin sisters, Lilly and Lexi.
Luke weighed in at eight pounds, nine ounces and measured 22 inches.
As Elliot Lake’s first arrival of the New Year, Luke’s parents were also presented with a handmade quilt, courtesy of the Elliot Lake Quilt Guild, which has been crafting a special quilt for the city’s first baby of the year for decades.
