The Tories and NDP are defending the Auditor General after the energy minister was accused of making a sexist comment. At issue is the A-G saying the Liberals wasted nearly two billion dollars on a smart meter hydro program designed to save money. Energy minister Bob Chiarelli said the auditor’s numbers were wrong adding it’s difficult to under the electricity system because of its complexities. NDP leader Andrea Horvath and Tory finance critic Vic Fedeli say the minister should resign over his comments for attacking the auditor’s abilities. They add this is another example of the Liberals pointing the finger at someone else rather than take responsibility for their actions.
