Not too late to get flu shot

Sometimes people don’t bother with a flu shot because the vaccine only fights one of the strains.

However, Ontario’s Medical Officer of Health says this year’s vaccine protects against four strains of the flu.

And Doctor David Williams says it looks like the vaccine is hitting the mark.

Williams says this is the time of year when people are easily exposed to the flu because they’re in shopping malls, going to parties or travelling.

Another peak period is March.

Williams says there’s still time to get a flu shot from any health unit, health care provider or pharmacy.
