A special meeting will be held by Espanola council to discuss naming a street in the new subdivision.
At last week’s council meeting, members were asked to consider Yusko Crescent as the new street name in the Brentwood Subdivision.
However, councilors Bill Foster and Ken Duplessis said the decision couldn’t be made without consulting the community services committee under procedural bylaw.
Mayor Jill Beer decided to move ahead with the motion anyway, but council rejected it.
A special meeting of the committee was held Tuesday and after some discussion, a recommendation was made to have the street named Yusko Crescent.
The Yuskos have been a long-established family in Espanola and with the model home now ready, a street name is needed for hard services such as hydro billing.
A special meeting of council will take place this evening at 5:30pm in council chambers to act on the recommendation of the committee.
