A dozen students at Sacred Heart Public School in Espanola are being taught to box. However the instruction for the Grades 6 to 8 students is strictly for physical activity. A teacher at the school, Shelley Wikiruk saw the program at the town’s recreation complex, talked to the instructor who agreed to provide a six week program for the students. Wikiruk believes the program will be good for her students’ mental, physical and academic disposition.
