Canadian Blood Services has collected 80 units of blood from a drive in Espanola. The target was 72. What helped put the agency over the top were a group of students from Espanola High School who gave for the first time. Among the group was 18-year-old Kenneth Vanalstine. Vanalstine admits he was a little nervous but says giving blood only involves a little pin prick and then you relax while blood is drawn. The teen says he’ll give blood again in the future.
