Espanola Pumpkin/Fibre Arts Festival numbers are in

The numbers are in for the Espanola Pumpkin and Fibre Arts festivals and they are looking good.

Espanola Economic Development Officer, Cheryl Kennelly says just over 1,400 people registered over the five days of the festival in October, and of that, 136 were children.

And a survey conducted of over 100 attendees shows over half were from out of town including places as far away as Uxbridge, Guelph, even Ohio.

Kennelly adds many visitors were also pleased to see the festival centralized at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex, including the children’s events and Farmers Market.

The joint fair is the largest of its kind held in Espanola and the survey results will be used to make improvements for future festivals.
