Fedeli: Liberal pension plan not well thought out

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the Wynne Liberal plan to force a pension plan on Ontarians will cost thousands of jobs.  Fedeli says the government’s own Ministry of Finance has crunched the numbers if the pension plan is implemented and he says they’re not pretty.  In the end, Fedeli says the Ontario pension plan will result in 150,000 lost jobs.    That’s because employers will lay off staff and use that money to pay their share of pensions for the remaining workforce.   Fedeli says rather than a forced pension plan, the Liberals should take a page from the Tories and introduce a voluntary plan.   Meanwhile since no one will be able to collect their Ontario pension for 40 years, Fedeli says that leaves the Liberals free to spend the pension money they accumulate on other things.  And he strongly believes they’ll use that money to eliminate their $12.5 billion deficit rather than reduce their spending.
