École Georges Vanier in Elliot Lake has launched its annual hygiene product drive to lend a hand to the elderly residing in the community’s nursing homes.
School board media relations coordinator, Bridgitte Miron says the students will be collecting items such as shampoo, body wash, razors and deodorants.
She adds the initiative seeks to not only help the elderly, but also to raise awareness amongst students on the needs of others and the importance of giving back to their community.
Students will have the opportunity to deliver these products just before Christmas to brighten the holiday season for those spending Christmas in a nursing home.
