An Elliot Lake man has been arrested in the death of an Elliot Lake woman.
On Thursday, at approximately 5:45am, East Algoma OPP was called to a disturbance at a residence on Valley Crescent in Elliot Lake.
The investigation revealed a barricaded person within the residence.
As a result, the OPP immediately established a safety perimeter in the area and several OPP units including tactical were called in.
At around 11:40 am, a 64 year-old man exited the residence and was arrested by police.
A 67-year-old female was found deceased inside the home.
The man was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
The investigation is on-going.
