Algoma Manitoulin MPP Mike Mantha wants Ontario to become the first Canadian province to develop a strategy on Lyme disease. Mantha has introduced a Private Member’s Bill to that effect. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection and if left untreated can morph into more serious diseases like lupus or multiple sclerosis. Mantha’s Bill calls on the Ontario government to develop a strategy on Lyme that’s similar to one being developed by the feds. The New Democrat says Lyme disease is growing in Ontario.
