SCHOOL CEREMONIES THIS FRIDAY IN ESPANOLA: Sacred Heart at 9:00am, Ecole St. Joseph and Franco Ouest at 9:45am, Senior Centre, 10:30 pm, Espanola High School, 1:00 pm.

REMEMBRANCE DAY TEA IN ESPANOLA THIS SATURDAY: The tea is this SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10TH from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in the upstairs hall at the Espanola Royal Canadian Legion – all proceeds stay with the Branch – tickets are $5 each and available at the Legion in advance or at the door.

REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICES will be taking place in WEBBWOOD on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 at 10:45 am at the Webbwood Cenotaph

REMEMBRANCE DAY DINNER IN MASSEY THIS SATURDAY: The Massey Legion will be hosting a Remembrance Day Roast Beef Dinner on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10 starting with Cocktails at 3:00pm with Dinner to follow from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. For more information or to purchase tickets call (705) 207-4247.

REMEMBRANCE DAY 2018 – HONOURING THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ARMISTICE: The Royal Canadian Legion Br.39 Espanola will be having their regular Remembrance Day Service, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11th with the parade at 10:45 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. Espanola Sea Cadets will stand on guard for the ceremony.
A lunch will follow in the main hall of the Legion.
THE BELLS FOR PEACE ecumenical service will take place at St. Georges Anglican Church at 4:30 p.m. The church bells will ring one hundred times in celebration of the end of World War 1 in 1918.
The MASSEY ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 11th, 2018 at 10:45am at the Massey Arena – Sadowski Room.

ELLIOT LAKE, BLIND RIVER AND ACROSS MANITOULIN ISLAND, special Remembrance Day Ceremonies also start at the respective cenotaphs at 11:00am.
To mark the 100th Anniversary of Armistice, the Elliot Lake Sea Cadets, who stand on guard throughout the day on Remembrance Day, will also be ringing the Bells at the Cenotaph at dusk. At the same time, Our Lady of Fatima Church will be ringing the bells 100 times to mark the anniversary. It’s expected to take place around 6:00pm.

LITTLE CURRENT BRANCH #177, in cooperation with Little Current Public School, will conduct a Remembrance Ceremony at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 at the school. Our traditional Remembrance Ceremony for the community on Sunday, Nov. 11 will start at 11 a.m. at the Little Current Legion. Please be present by 10:45 a.m. At 2:00 p.m, a Remembrance Ceremony will take place at Centennial Manor followed by a Wreath Placement Ceremony at the downtown Little Current Cenotaph.

At 11 a.m. a ceremony will be held at the MANITOULIN ISLAND DISTRICT CENOTAPH at Monument Corners, Spring Bay. In addition, ceremonies will be held in communities and First Nations across Manitoulin Island to recognize the achievements of our Veterans and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We hope you will attend one of these venues.

At 5:00 pm, the public is invited to attend a BELLS OF PEACE at the Little Current United Church. The Church bell will ring 100 times to honour the sacrifices of Canadians who served in the 1914-1918 War, and to remember the horrors of war, the costs to society, and the promise of peace.

THE BELLS WILL RING IN VIRTUALLY EVERY COMMUNITY THROUGHOUT THE MOOSE LISTENING AREA!

MASSEY INTER-CHURCH COUNCIL invited everyone to join thein the PEACE LANTERN CEREMONY at the MASSEY LEGION at 6:00 p.m. on November 11th.
